Marvellous Matthew

Another wonderful surprise for the Trust was when Heidi Coles and Tony Lane invited us to dinner.  Matthew and Ben Hall were there and presented SPT with a magnificent donation of £700.  This was gained by Matthew extremely kindly donating his special birthday gifts to go to the Trust.  Thank you too to Ben for suggesting SPT; Ben was also a great helper last summer at the Teas in Lower Slaughter Village Hall

The Rotary Club helps again

THREE charities have received a donation of £1,000 from the North Cotswold Rotary Club.

Kate’s Home Nursing, Home-Start Cotswolds and the Sam Pilcher Trust were each presented with a cheque last month by Bob Hadley.

He said:
“We chose these three local charities because they each do so much to help vulnerable families, those who are sick and in need of nursing care, or those whose children have cancer.

We have been very impressed by their work in the community, and each of these wonderful organisations is based here in the north Cotswolds.”
Rotarians put in a spin

The Rotary Club of the North Cotswolds asked SPT to attend a Rotary meeting and not only were Colin and Terasa given a delicious dinner but were presented with a magnificent cheque for the Sam Pilcher Trust for £1,150.  We can only thank them once again for their outstanding support and guidance for the Trust.

Diamond Geezers

Unfortunately the start to the New Year was not so good due to the cancellation of the SPT New Year’s Eve Extravaganza.

However, just when the Trust was loosing spirit SPT received a phone call from Barry Pilcher to inform the Trust that a cheque was on its way.

Barry is in a band called The Diamonds and they had just performed a gig to help raise funds for the Trust and had raised the magnificent figure of £580

Flying High

It was a fantastic end to the year for SPT with the Concert of the Royal Air Force at the Cotswold SchoolSPT had a stall and managed to raise £150 in about only 2 hours.  Colin and Terasa even managed to have seats next to some very important dignitaries of the Rotary Club and enjoyed a wonderful festive concert

The Rotary Club of the North Cotswolds

On 9th October, Colin and Terasa gave a presentation to The Rotary Club of the North Cotswolds about SPT.  It was a very nerve-wracking task and was the first the Trust has so far performed but we should not have feared because we were given a wonderful reception and were overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity given.  Below is one of the wonderful comments that we received:
“Albert gave a vote of thanks that echoed all the members’ appreciation of how you explained your Trust, both present and future. I wish to add my thanks for such a clear and concise presentation. I am sure we will be working closely with you in the future and will want to know when your website is up and running, so that we can be up to speed with events. All the very best for the future of the Sam Pilcher Trust”
